Free Press Houston Announces Summer Fest 2012 Lineup
In the wee hours of the morning, Free Press Houston announced the lineup for this year’s Free Press Summer Fest on June 2-3. Among the headliners are The Avett Brothers, Snoop Dogg, Willie Nelson, Primus, The Flaming Lips (who will be performing Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon), Descendents, and many, many more. Personally, I’m excited about Danny Brown, Jeff The Brotherhood, Bad Veins, and Valient Thorr all making appearances on the lineup, as well as reunions by locals Papermoons, The Riff Tiffs, and Fatal Flying Guiloteens. Check out the full lineup below, and head over to freepresssummerfest.com to grab passes and other goodies while they’re still cheap.

Just a friendly reminder: blind presale passes for Free Press Summer Fest are only available until Sunday, October 9th.
That means two things: there will be a lineup announcement very soon, and that prices will jump after the announcement.
Grab a pass now. They’re only twenty-five bucks.

Dancey Pants Lineup Announced | Free Press Summer Fest III
This past week, Free Press announced the lineup for the Dancey Pants tent at Summer Fest. Tickets are a whopping $225, but after all the tagline reads, “You can’t afford this. You can’t afford to miss this.”
While these tickets don’t come cheap, they do offer exclusive access to the Fancy Pants tent - whose lineup includes Chromeo and Neon Indian - as well as free drinks, rapid entry, various swag, meet and greets, and massages. Oh, and access to the rest of the festival, of course.
Here’s hoping that my press pass will let me slip in to catch Michael “5000” Watts.
Big Boi in, MF Doom out for Summer Fest | 29-95.com
Note: Gah, this is old news now.
The folks at Free Press Summer Fest announced some more artists this morning. Gone is MF Doom, whose people could not assure that Doom himself, rather than an imposter, would show arrive. In his place is rapper Big Boi, of Outkast.
Other additions to the lineup include Beirut, Girls, and Killing Joke.
This June, Houston, Texas will play host to the Free Press Summer Fest, a two day celebration of “incredible music and happy, fun times.” Weezer, MF Doom, Ween, Cut Copy and Yeasayer lead an impressive list of acts set to perform the festival on June 4 and 5.
