Chamillionaire is the latest to be announced, and his appearance will be his first public concert in Houston this year.

Major BestFest Lineup Announcement Coming Wednesday - Rocks Off

Rocks Off teased everyone yesterday with the promise that another big name (or more?) will be announced today, post-lunch.

Thus, we’ll advise everyone to check out the blog around 1 or 2 p.m. to find out more details.

Meanwhile, BestFest tickets are on sale at $25 for the two-day festival, with prices set to increase on September 1.

Bun B, Deer Tick Come Aboard BestFest Lineup - Rocks Off

This one’s pretty simple. Like the link says, Bun B and Deer Tick have been confirmed for the Houston Press BestFest on September 24 and 25.

I’m not terribly surprised - remember that thing about a hot tip? But it certainly is nice to see everything worked out with these artists.

There’s no word on schedule yet, and the Press has promised to announce more artists soon. My guess is that Deer Tick and Buxton will wind up on the same day, though.

Cake, Buxton Confirmed For First-Ever BestFest - Rocks Off

So, Houston Press’ annual Best Of Houston awards has now spiraled into a two-day music festival, appropriately called BestFest, on the weekend September 24 and 25.

The Press just confirmed that Cake and Buxton are two of the featured acts, with several more to be announced - likely this week. HTR has a hot tip on who a few of those names might be, but we’ll remain hushed until they’ve been confirmed.

Tickets for the festival will go on sale Friday morning at 10 A.M., and start at $25.
