Dig This Vol. VII - Rocks Off
Well, it seems that Young Girls is ending, like far too many good Houston acts do. Before that, they’ll open for Davila 666 on Saturday, though, so catch them while you can.
(Edit: Pete Tijerina chimed up to inform us that Young Girls is not breaking up, but rather taking a break to record. Hooray! Sorry for any confusion.)
The newest installment of Dig This features Western Standards, Dead Mineral, Young Girls, Eli, and Cast Away.
If you missed last week’s post, check it out to discover Peloton, Titan Blood, Coxcombs, Papaya, and Football, Etc.

Heights Vinyl Prepares To Plant Its Flag - Rocks Off
Houston’s about to gain a record store in November. Before that happens, however, there’ll be a giant 45 sale this Saturday, September 24 in the parking lot out front of the future Heights Vinyl shop. Find out more in this article I wrote for the Houston Press.
Dig This (Vol. 2) - Rocks Off
The second installment of Dig This is up now at the Houston Press. Same allotment of five local acts for your perusal, so hop to it.
While much of the talk on Saturday was about the changes happening to The Mink, these four old stalwarts put on a raucous show at The Continental Club. Click through to see some of my photos from the night and Chris Gray’s wonderful commentary. (via Saturday Night: Wild Men Of Rock At The Continental Club - Rocks Off)
