Dig This Vol. VII - Rocks Off
Well, it seems that Young Girls is ending, like far too many good Houston acts do. Before that, they’ll open for Davila 666 on Saturday, though, so catch them while you can.
(Edit: Pete Tijerina chimed up to inform us that Young Girls is not breaking up, but rather taking a break to record. Hooray! Sorry for any confusion.)
The newest installment of Dig This features Western Standards, Dead Mineral, Young Girls, Eli, and Cast Away.
If you missed last week’s post, check it out to discover Peloton, Titan Blood, Coxcombs, Papaya, and Football, Etc.
Dig This: Peloton, Coxcombs, Titan Blood, Papaya & Football, Etc. - Rocks Off
The newest installment of Dig This posted over at H-Town Rock today. Take a gander and learn about some more local music.
Side Project Saturday at Mango’s.
I wanted to take a quick minute to spotlight Saturday’s show at Mango’s, as it features a brand new local band, Mikey & The Drags.
The Drags include former McKenzies frontman Miguel Ponce, and will be making their debut with this gig. I believe this is also the first show for Mario Rodriguez’s Bang Bangz project - you might know Mario from Tax The Wolf. Fernando of Somosuno trots out his well-versed side project Papaya, and Second Lovers rounds out the bill. All this will run you a scant five bones.
Thumbs up to Eric Castorena on the poster design, by the way.
