Busy Kids CD release show with Something Fierce & The Ex-Optimists
This is in College Station, on November 18th. If you’re there, you should definitely go. What this means for everyone in Houston, however, is that The Busy Kids will soon have a CD available! Hooray!

I was just lamenting the fact that there weren’t more recordings from The Busy Kids. Well, that’s been solved with this pair - “You’re No Fun” and “Teenagers In Heat.”
Teenagers is free, and you can grab No Fun for just a buck. Hopefully this means there’s a physical release coming soon from the band.
The Busy Kids are one of my favorite new bands to watch in Houston. It’s sloppy, poppy, fun punk played by four girls - fronted by Niki Sevven of Something Fierce. For all its imprecision, it is damn fun. You really can’t help but love them when you see them live - which you can do tonight, when they play at Mango’s with White Crime and Black Wine.
This is the only recording that’s surfaced so far, but hopefully we’ll see a proper release from the group in the near future.

There’s a rather excellent show at Vinyl Junkie tomorrow night. Occult Detective Club is from Denton, while Something Fierce, Noguey, and The Busy Kids are all locals. Five bucks will get you in the door, where you can get your punk on, and even buy some records.
The Busy Kids feature Fierce’s Niki Sevven, and Noguey is rumored to have a Cop Warmth member in there.
