Photographed and reviewed The Civil Wars at the Wortham Center on Friday night for the Houston Press. Check out the slideshow for more photos of the duo and the darling UK group The Staves, and read the full review over at Rocks Off.
Last Night: Dir En Grey at House of Blues - Rocks Off
For the record, I thought this band was boring as hell. Certainly one of the least intriguing acts I’ve seen of late. But it made for some good photos, and the internet has seemingly flipped their lids in the comments, if that’s interesting to you.
Not dead over here people, just been recuperating. Look forward to more content this week. For now, here’s some fun photos of Tony performing at The Mohawk in Austin last weekend.
Photos from Fun Fun Fun Fest Nites #2 at the Mohawk (Friday, November 4th), one of the several wild ‘n’ loose after parties they threw over the festival weekend. All pictures are from my set right before Big Freedia where I rapped really well to hundreds of drunks in a room that can barely fit 10 skinny children comfortably including famous people Reggie Watts and Ryan Gosling.
Many thanks to The Bar Bat for capturing Austin at its wildest. See more of his photos here: http://thebarbat.dphoto.com
Fat Tony, Big Freedia, Cold Cave, and Glass Candy… we all slayed.

Last Night: The Black Angels At Fitzgerald's - Rocks Off
Also, if you missed it I shot The Black Angels show at Fitzgerald’s two weeks ago. Craig’s review was quite good as well.

Last Night: St. Vincent At Fitzgerald's - Rocks Off
Click through to see some of my photos of Annie Clark performing at Fitzgerald’s and read an excellent review by Neph Basedow.
While much of the talk on Saturday was about the changes happening to The Mink, these four old stalwarts put on a raucous show at The Continental Club. Click through to see some of my photos from the night and Chris Gray’s wonderful commentary. (via Saturday Night: Wild Men Of Rock At The Continental Club - Rocks Off)
Guess Who’s Back?! Scarface! (@BrotherMob) - House of Blues Houston on Flickr.
Check this Scarface photo out, from my fellow shooter Marco Torres. This was at the DMX show last week, and is believed to be Scarface’s first public appearance since being released from prison. Go read Shea Serrano’s awesome review of the show at Rocks Off.
